I'm replying to the list because this a generic answer. Universal Radio 
sells used equipment that has been checked out and has a warranty.

I mention it on the list because they on occasion have Ten Tec rigs for 
sale.

Currently there are no HF rigs on offer, but that changes from day to day.

IMHO no matter how good their intentions are, I think he would be better 
off spending $450 for the radio and $50 shipping from them, than buying 
a $500 radio from a local ham.
