		audio circuit for that jack on the K3
		expects and is suited or adjusted for that
		type of microphone capsule.

		If I understand the question correctly... it would
		not be required for the K3, but might be for the
		TenTec rigs under heretofore under discussion in
		this thread.

		I am not as sure about this as I am about the K3,
		but I think the Microham device is also set to
		expect that sort of mic, but its internal gain
		settings may be hotter than the K3, and this would
		explain why it works OK, but runs hotter.
