[TenTec] Omni VII Speech Processor Question

Hi -

Is the Omni VII built-in speech processor function RF-based or AF-based? 
  The manual says it is an RF-based function, but I thought I was told 
differently when they sold me a Model 715 RF-based processor.

If it is an RF-based function, is it different from the Model 715 RF 
speech processor in any salient way?
