I suspect that the DDC/DUC market will evolve with 3rd parties offering
add-on virtual front panels that hang off the PC or the rig as peripherals,
or perhaps hang off the network.  You're probably not going to see DDC/DUC
box itself with knobs.

These virtual front panels will be a more elegant outgrowth of the current
use of DJ Consoles and Woodbox Radio devices in PowerSDR etc and should be
fairly easy to implement via CAT interface.

A virtual front panel like this would also come in handy for remote
operation.
