I use the 707 with the Omni VII and always get "great audio" reports.

Typical values:
SSB TX BW    3000
TX Roll Off      250
TX EQ             0 dB
Speech Processor    40%
MIC GAIN             55% *
*Value dependant on Hardware Mike gain.
