Well, it looks like the "bond paper" issue has been answered 
sufficiently, so let me throw out a comment about the restricted space 
issue...

I have no idea if there is an equivalent item in Germany, but in the USA 
there is a commonly available product called "Tarn-X", a *LIQUID* 
tarnish remover. Of course this presumes you can remove the connector in 
question -- or somehow prevent the stuff from dribbling over the rest of 
the radio.
