Au contraire, JR: Learning to copy through QRM due to barn-door
selectivity did wonders for developing mental selectivity that aided
contesting endeavors
tremendously. Starting with a top level RX would not accustom one
to this rigorous training. Would I go back to using my old cheap
Halli S-19R? Not a chance
but I am very grateful for the experience I got using it.
I liken this to my xyl's (also a ham) reaction to noise and static
that I can copy through, but she can't handle. ;-) .
