That certainly makes it easy to use standard cables, or easy to make cables 
to connect ones amp, plus use the soundcard of their choice, plus use a foot 
switch, or a straight key.  Everything is covered.  Operators choice.  Why 
fret over making cables?  No reason to in my opinion.
