[TenTec] solved - Orion II won't flash

No rest for the wicked, Billy! No time to slow down.

CORRECT, the Dell Latitude D-series was the last to include the true serial
port.
Thought it was also on my E-series too, but I just checked; it is not. It's
through the docking station, which is probably not a true RS-232.

Floppy: I've been using a USB connected floppy for at least 10 years -
though it is rare that I ever need to use it anymore. It should work just
fine to load DOS from a floppy.

Ditto for a laptop (or desktop) that comes with a floppy as standard anymore

Rick,

I do not understand your statement below. New business computers from Dell
do not come with a "real" or "true" RS-232 serial port. They haven't for
years. USB 2.0 and now 3.0 ports - yes. RS-232 serial ports - no. If you
have a part number for a current production Dell business laptop that comes
with an RS-232 COM (serial) port, please share it with us.

Actually just about any brand new business laptop from Dell or Lenovo has a
true serial port and you can always boot dos from a floppy.
