Really, as long as you get FTDI USB to serial converters, they work
fine. I have not had one problem with them in years.
I do all my software development on a 3.5 ghz 8 core PC with 16 gig of
memory. I have an 8 port FTDI USB to serial converter that gives me 8
serial ports and it works great for all my test radios.
