Hi Rick,

1977. I did have the audio CW filter, which I later copied and gave as a 
gift to my Dad for his 515, which I now have. The 509 and amp were sold 
at the Indianapolis Hamfest in 1989 since we were going to move to Alaska.

With the walls around the valley at Yosemite though my little signal was 
only answered by someone in San Francisco.

I did scare a Vet in the next campground one evening. I thought I had 
the volume pretty low which may have actually added to the problem. He 
came over saying he was glad it was real that he was hearing CW. He 
thought he was having a flash back.
