[TenTec] POWERING SCOUT VIA BATTERY

I would suggest using a Gel battery rather than a lead acid.
If really only 10w, then it doesn't have to be so huge.
25Ah would be enough.

Then simply put a trickle charger on it when not in use. Remove the charger
while using.

In the meantime I run my Scout (only portable) off of a 12 Ah LiFePo
battery.
If I charge it fresh (regular charge) I can run all day on one battery...
and I have two bateries.
(but they weren't cheap)

Subject: [TenTec] POWERING SCOUT VIA BATTERY

IN MY QTH LOCATION NORTH OF SEATTLE WE EXPERIENCE 10-12 POWER OUTAGES
ANNUALLY..

I AM THINKING ABOUT RUNNING THE SCOUT FROM A 12V 50 AH SLA AND TRICKLE
CHARGER AT 10W POWER LEVEL ANY SUGGESTIONS REGARDING TRICKLE CHARGE SIZE?
IS JUST USING A BATTERY . WOULD JUST A STANDARD AUTOMOTIVE OR
MARINEADEQUATE?

BTW WE DO HAVE A HOME GENERATOR HOWEVER WE DISCOVERED NOT ALL GENERATORS
PROVIDE CLEAN POWER FOR ELECTRONICS.
