[TenTec] OMNI 6 SWR shutdown

Shuts down meaning the OMNI 6 shuts of the power supply with zero drive. As other TenTecs, if you reset the condition by turning the power off and back on - the radio comes back up. My OMNI VII will do the same with too much SWR. The PA transistors always have VCC on them when the radio is turned on, so I doubt they are shorted. Just looking for past experience, if any out there.

Shuts down.....meaning:completely powers off and does not come back on at "key up"? Or....shuts down....meaning:rig stays on, all indications are that it is in TX, but no power output? Or: shuts down, meaning your power supply is going under-voltage, or is itself "shutting down"? I personally would verify voltage INSIDE the rig on TX before I did anything else.

Keep us posted.

After looking at the solder joints on the RF board closer, I see all of them look sort of frosty and wrinkke like a cold solder joint. So, I'm wondering if Ten-Tec had quality problems with some of the Jupiters? It will take forever and a day to resolder all of those joints. Does anyone here have an RF board for a Jupiter you'd want to sell?

My Triton IVs, and older Omni shut down with SWR mismatch, finals drawing too much current etc. . I have forgotten the how the protection in my Tenb Tec Scout works.
