Hi-

I have had an opportunity to bring different T-T PTO’s back into usefulness with out a total tear down.

The silicone based lubricant has been available at “Bicycle Shops”. The name of the lubricant is: “TRI-FLOW” silicone lubricant it has been in a spray can.

I would soak, bathe, drench the grease in the PTO and use a fine brush to clean the grease away. Then I would turn it so that the extra would drain out and install it.

I think the method I use results in an equally free mechanism.

The first PTO that I experimented on with this method was in 1999 when I bought a can to lube the cables on my bicycle. Then tried it on my OMNI A. It is still working well even after months of non use in 18 years.

It's not that bad to just go ahead and take them apart, use some isopropyl alcohol and Q tips to clean it all up ( I needed a small screwdriver to pry away some of the really hardened grease) .. then i used Mobil 1 synthetic grease to relube the pieces. It has worked great, but I make absolutely no claims about how good this lubricant is compared to the service station grease my friend Mike Hyder mentioned LOL.
