[TenTec] Eagle: deaf receiver until a brief transmission is initiated

I agree with Bob, except 'if' you have a linear amp between the Eagle and
the antenna, it could also be the TR relay in the amplifier.
It certainly sounds like a TR relay contact problem.
With the Eagle, you'll just have to swap the relay.
In the amp, you can usually manually clean the relay contacts.

Subject: [TenTec] Eagle: deaf receiver until a brief transmission is
initiated

Hi,

I have been away from the hobby since July due to some serious work and
family commitments but I'm getting back to my radios (finally !)

So I have this Eagle that, every now and then, has very little sensitivity
when you switch it ON. It happens like one in 15 times. You activate the
transmission briefly (pressing the PTT or the "TUNE" button) and everything
goes back to normal for days.

Have you guys experienced something like this?

Other than that, the radio is a pleasure to listen to.

73,
Carlos VK1EA
