Hi All

Have a strange problem with my Argosy 2, the RX voltage is only 8.7volts
on the mixer pcb, now here is the kicker, if i disconnect the RX/TX
terminal 8 on the mixer pcb the RX voltage (blue) returns to the correct
value.
There appears to be just 1v on the TX (yellow), i have removed all
transistors and tested them, those that appeared to be low gain were
changed, electrolytic's changed, just in case!.

If put just put the blue wire onto the board the RX springs into life.

Studying the circuit diagram of the IF/AF pcb checking the voltages i
see that Q5 and Q6 are shown as PNP but the parts legend show them as
being 2n5089, these are NPN types, i have 11v on collector and emitter,
10.4v on base. have tested all trannies and they are within spec, all
other components are with tolerances as well.

! stumped ex Rock Ape here

Can anybody confirm what Q5 and Q6 are?.

stay safe and well
