I have puled pins and pushed them back in many times.
I used a very tiny screw driver.

I pushed it in from the side where the two parts mate and bent the tiny latch in towards the middle.
Then I pulled it out from the back side.
After attaching a new wire to it, I carefully bent the tiny latch outwards a little so that it would latch an hold when I re-inserted the pin.

Just be careful and don't use force.

Looks like a cut, solder and sleeve is in order for the battery connector.

i purchased a hand operated one from mouser years and years ago. It wasn’t cheap.
I think now the AMP handle is $200 and each die about $250 They also sell a “T” handle one for about $40
