There have been several comments about the content of the
reflector lately. I DO NOT intend to start a discussion on the
reflector itself, but would like to do a simple poll. Please read
the purpose of the reflector below, and reply DIRECTLY TO ME with
your answers to the questions below. I will summarize them and
post the responses, but will keep your responses confidential so
you can tell us how you really feel. Callsigns ARE required to
be included in the poll.

REFLECTOR PURPOSE:

"Welcome to the topband mailing list! This list is intended for the exchange
of information on 160-related topics only. Please do not post questions
about general topics like equipment wanted/for sale, E-mail addresses
needed, etc. Occasional problem 160 QSL requests are OK but please
use this reflector only as a last resort after trying the ususal sources.
Please do not use the reflector to post your personal complaints,
criticisms, gripes, etc. We have many overseas subscribers who do not
appreciate the bandwidth taken on non-informational topics. Feel free to
post 160-related questions, but request responses directly and then
summarize the responses in a followup post. If we all follow these simple
guidelines, Topband will remain a valuable information resource for all of
us. 73, Bill W4ZV"

QUESTIONS:

1. Do you agree or disagree with the Reflector Purpose? YES___ NO___

2. If NO, what would you change? Be specific about what you would add
or delete.

3. Is W4ZV administering the reflector OK? YES___ NO___

4. If NO, what would you like him to change? Be specific. Options
are to go from zero administration whatsoever to a completely closed
list which requires editing every comment. For an example of the
former, see AMPS@contesting.com. The latter has the disadvantage that
it would take an excessive amount of time to administer which would
greatly slow down the timeliness of posts (like nonexistent when I'm
out of town!)

5. Who would you like to hear MORE from (i.e. your favorite posters)?
Give specific callsigns and responses will be rank ordered.

6. Who would you like to hear LESS from (i.e. your least favorite
posters)? Give specific callsigns and responses will be rank ordered.

Remember that I will keep your feedback confidential so please
give us your frank comments. I also have a thick hide so do not be shy
about anything. This is your opportunity to give feedback (positive and
negative) to me as well as to our posters. I will close this poll
after a few days so please respond NOW, but DIRECTLY TO ME AND NOT THE
REFLECTOR. Thanks in advance for your feedback to make this reflector
better meet your needs.
