Hi topbanders de SM4CAN:
My cat Zorro did wake me up at 0230z this morning and after some coffee I
went down to radioroom in the basement of the house starting to scan over
the 160m band.
Band did sound quite ,but listning in the north direction gave me an idea
of whats might come.
There were KL7ZZ with a 599+ signal on 1833 listning 1 up with a b i g pile
from EU.
Did work several stations from western US all with signals around 559 and
the usual qsb.
W0AH was holding in for long , K0RF was one of the stronger signals and
N6TR/7 was 579 around 0530z.
It was great to work Grand Old Man Jack KH6CC for first this season.
On this side was on the band stations from LA OZ OH0 OH SP JW YL DJ F G ON
etc.
As noted before on openings to western US, east coast stations were down in
signal and it happend several times that the west coast stations were "much
stronger" than the stations to their east.
A great opening hope you all had a good time even if you did not work any
"new station"!
