The opening last night was truly superb. I checked the band rather =
late, about 0400Z, and was surprised to hear Europe coming through. ( =
It's usually a surprise in this part of the world.) I started searching =
and pouncing, but eventually there was a pile up of Europeans calling =
that sounded very more like 20 meters than 160; fast code speed, strong =
signals, many calling. In 90 minutes there were 40 Europeans in the log, =
many of whom I had never worked before, but were solid 579 or more in =
strength. As mentioned by others, GM3POI was the loudest, over S-9 for =
more than an hour, with some of the German stations not far behind. The =
opening was quite broad, over all parts of Europe including CT, SV, UP2, =
G, and Scandinavia. Signals here were definitely coming from over the =
Pole. Great fun seamed to be had by all. Bob, N7UA
