The condx are getting better....
With an A-index below 10 some very brief, but good openings
are possible to Westcoast. Shortly after getting my personal
'beacon' into the log (N7UA: 589, thanks again Bob; at least
I always know immediately what's going) and completing a QSO
with Heri YB2BRW, an 8 minutes opening into CA has brought 5
new calls this season:
KG6I, NI6T, K1VW, N6FF and K6ANP.
Then the show was over. Still heard VE3IY/7, but fading out
without complete QSO. Including K9JF/7 and K6VX worked on
12th September at least I can say the Westcoast is alive.
Where are the Asians? Heard UN5J twice but otherwise nil.
Seems still to be sleeping. Called several times already
into JA after the Westcoast has faded out - nil.
First EU QSO's were RA3DOX and my 160m elmer - Mar DL3DXX.
Africa is in too (thanks to Pres and Jim on VQ9) - missing
still SA with very little chances to get, the south pole is
mainly in between at the southern end and into the north
no condx sofar shortly after sunset there.
Hope Trey N5KO can help out later as HC8N.
Will be busy here attending a conference the next evenings
(US opening) and afterwards going to Germany - so listen again
for me on 1829.3 after my return Saturday 27th.
Will still try to be on until Wednesday for EU (+VE1ZZ?)
at my sunrise around 22:40Z.
73, Joerg YB1AQS
