TopBand: Gladiator Verticals

Hi, Gents:

Just had my GAP Voyager come crashing down in a windstorm and
self-destruct...which is not real sad, as it truly sucked on 160 meters
!!  Being now in the market for another transmitting antenna for top
band - this time a GOOD one, I wonder if any of you-all are familiar
with the performance of the Gladiator monoband verticals which are on
the market?  After the sticker-shock of the Titanix offerings, the price
looks pretty attractive.

ALSO, I'm sure this idea has been mulled over by many before, but -- is
there any way to introduce any type of inductive coil onto a beverage to
reduce the overall length ?  Any thoughts ?
