Hello Reflectees !
160m condx for EU have been better on Saturday.Band opened into the W0 and W5
area.
Northeast was poor (e.g. NE states ),they were just too close to auroral
oval as
seen on the internet.Had to close dwn an hour prior to sunrise-bcus driving to
swapmeet far away.Sunday started out with a weaker band, but some W1 and W2 stns
wkd that day.Band did not yield much W0 that day ( K0EJ only ).Texans were
strong on both days.W9 area very underrepresented.
But surprisingly most US stns heard well for weak DX stns!
The only bad thing was, that the band gave up in EU on Sunday about 1.5 hours
before local sunrise - a phenomenon that seems to be attached to the high solar
flux. All in all i ended up with abt 40 Qs and 24 Mults- less than half of
what i
did last year. But it still is nice that DX to DX does not score,it keeps the
band so quiet in EU and makes lots of QSOs possible that otherwise would have
been below the threshold. 73 de wolf
