I'd like to hear from anyone who had used the MFJ-1040B receiver
preamplifier with a receive antenna on 160m. It is designed to sit in the
antenna line and switches out of the circuit when your transmit.

I'd like your comments on whether this is a worthwhile piece of gear.

I'm considering purchasing this box and modifying it to accept a low-gain
receive-only antenna, such as a beverage, pennant, flag or K9AY loop.

Please give me your responses directly. I'll post a summary of your
comments.
