Thanks Greg for doing some lab-work on the CFA design.
I have been reading the original article as well.Just from the description of 
the methods employed there in efficiency and pattern measuring,i can tell that 
the simplest rules of scientific work have been thrown overboard.Using a
kite to 
fly out a radiaton pattern and eventually using a nearby tower does not meet 
standards at all.And there is no reference data in comparison with other 
antennas in ways of physical dimensions over a given path.The article seems to 
be " nailed together" in a few minutes.I guess we should delete any
time-burning 
efforts on this.Looks to me like a typical "something for nothing machine".
