G'day

Yesterday, I took my telescopic tower down to insulate the guys in
preparation for putting up a Marconi-T antenna. The idea was to complete
the job to the point that I could put the tower back up for the South
Pacific 160m Test that night and then finish the insulation job the
following morning.

With about about 5 minutes to go to sunset, after working like a lunatic
for most of the day, the tower was ready to go back up. Carrying out a
last minute inspection, I discovered that the local galah parrots had
almost entirely chewed through the control cable which switches the feeder
between my 160/40m dipoles and HF beam. Grabbing hold of the cable to see
exactly how bad the damage was, the cable fell neatly into two pieces...

Hope you had fun in the South Pacific 160m DX Test. See you next year
(parrots permitting, of course)...

Steve, VK6VZ
