Good news from The Daily DX:

"The Chesterfield Islands are located in the Coral Sea (19ø 52' South,
158ø 19' East) just over 350 kilometers from New Caledonia. These
islands were added on to the DXCC list on March 23, 2000. Since then
only two operations have taken place. Until now that is. Veteran
DXpeditioner Jacky Calvo, F2CW, will head a group of four operators to
activate the newest entity to the DXCC list late next month. He is
currently in Noumea, New Caledonia (FK) and has been operating as
FK/F2CW. Jacky will soon use TX5CW from New Caledonia. Arrangements
have been made for a chartered 14-meter sailboat to take the team to
the Chesterfield Islands between April 24 and May 8. Dany, F5CW, and
at least two other operators will join the group. They expect to have
3 stations, making a special effort on the low bands and 15 meters.
Yaesu Japan and Kan Mizoguchi, JA1BK are sponsoring this operation.
QSL cards for 6 meters will be handled by JA1BK and all others via
ZL3CW. On a side note Jacky will be traveling to French Polynesia
later this month. More details about the Chesterfields are expected."

This is good news indeed! The original TX0DX expedition did
not activate Topband at all and only spent a little time on 80. Jacky
F2CW is an excellent CW and low band operator and has previously been
on a number of excellent low band operations. Dany F5CW is also an
excellent operator on Topband and many of you will remember his activity
from J28EI and FT5ZB in the late 80's. They both love Topband and I'm
sure will do their best to give all a new one.
