G'day Ivo (and other fellow 160m topband contesters),

I am not sure why the CQ WW 160 was NOT made either 24 or 48 hours in
duration, but the net result of this is a 'playing field' that is far from
level. Any topband contest whose duration is less than 24 hours or a
multiple of 24 hours is going to be unfair/inequitable to some of the
players somewhere in the world.

For example, as has been pointed out already, the current duration/timing
of start and finish times of the CQ 160 means that VK6 only gets one
sunrise opportunity (although two sunset opportunies). Other more populous
places get two cracks at a sunrise and two at a sunset.

Issues of duration of a 160m contest need to made fair, even before issues
of the actual scoring are taken into account.

Vy 73,

Steve, VK6VZ
