Topband: 5u1a

Last evening was an exercise in frustration...seemed like people both east
and west of me (I'm in Iowa) were hearing the 5u1 on topband but only faint
whispers and an occasional letter or two here.  After listening to them for
well over an hour, about 0330 they gradually began to improve.  I managed to
work them at 0338.  By 0345 they were a good 10 or 12 db out of the noise.
They also seem to be hearing pretty well.  Am glad I hung around.
