Topband: Condx in ARRL contest Sat morning

Unusual propagation from south central UK to USA this morning.
Usually the strong east coast contest stations work scores of europeans but
this morning it was the reverse.
When I listened about 0630z W2GD NO2R just made 559 and and other east
coasters having difficulty working EU.
However Larry N7DD and N7GP in AZ were solid 579 and hearing and working EU
well!
Earl K6SE 569 at 0722z working an east coaster I couldnt hear.
N5OT N5TW and K5GO good signals but the prize for best USA signal goes to
K5NA 579 at 0640 but only workable at my sunrise 0749 peaking 599.
It seems one never knows where the skip goes on an apparently poor band!
Signals were not skewed.
Lets hope the skip favours other parts of USA tonight.
