Topband: Protecting short receive antennas and Phasers

I have protected preamps in several ways.
Protecting receiving devices against transmitted power:

1. With most new rigs you have separate receive antenna inputs which
automatically protect what is connected to them. This is probably the best
protection.

2. Slightly older rigs like the Rockwell-Collins KWM-380 had an external
jumper that could allow separate receive and transmit antenna jacks. This
requires an external relay to receive on the transmit antenna.

3. Relays to remove the device and perhaps ground it during transmit. A
series of relays can give a slight delay to insure the device is removed
before rf goes out. (This can be tricky.)
