Topband: Tailending again

I'll bite. As I said, if done correctly it can be a useful tool. When I
correctly that means NO QRMING the station that is in the QSO. I'm seeing
that too many ops think tail ending is dropping your call in OVER the guy
just finishing up. Not in my book.

But, as I said before, its in the control of the DX station. Too many tail
enders? Can't finish the qso you just started? Everyone will get the message
when you continue to work to finish it and EVERYONE else looses propagation!
Or at least that how it should work.

I'm not advocating its use. I hardly ever use it. In fact can't think of a
recent QSO where I have (recent being in the last 5 or 10 years!). I've just
seen it work (wasn't happy that the guy "jumped ahead in line") but he did
it so well and so smoothly that it was worth admiring.

Anyway, I think with the advent of packet, the lack of old time elmers to
pass along the proper techniques (none of that last 2 garbage!) we will
continue to see operating practices degrade.
