Topband: FEEDING AN END-FED LONGWIRE

It's interesting to see the comments about "end fed long wires" working so 
well .. as a QRP'er on the higher bands I always note random wire antennas 
including end-fed ones (which are particularly easy to install) most often 
outperform Gap Verticals and those other "loaded" verticals of all sizes and shapes 
aimed at the QRP appliance op community .. Seems that while they [end fed 
longwires] have an unpredictable pattern that given fairly non complex matching and 
built-in "counterpoise" they remain relatively high in efficiency over the 
plain-jane verticals installed without adequate ground screens or counterpoises.  
Kind of like a nice plain old HIGH dipole on 160.
