Topband: 160m OPEN to NEVADA THE BAND IS ALIVE !

Greetings Top Band Zealots

October  23  0300 to 0600 utc
many Europeans coming thru to WEST USA -
got 579s from SM5EDX ( beacon of SM)
PA0CLN, SM4CAN, OH3XR, OH2BO -
etc    -  heard a bunch of EU that did not
hear me -  The bands was really nice

Given a scale of 1 to 10 for TOP BAND
station prowess -
with W8JI and K9DX rating a solid TEN.
My present set up ( dual slopers) is a solid
2.1 !  so  considering my " ears" are not 
great , the band  sounded really good to me !

I suspect each EUROPEAN worked  had
a  very extensive TOP BAND antenna system
for both TX and RX -  the OH stations were
very solid as was John SM5EDX.
