Topband: Noon time condx

I certainly don't claim to be enough of a physicist to fully understand
propagation with any degree of expertise.  That said, I have learned over
the years that QSO's at high noon over a 1200 mile path are pretty normal
with two well equipped stations when the SFI is low.   When the SFI is high
this rarely happens.  This becomes more pronounced at higher frequencies. 
I can routinely work Europe at high noon from Iowa on 40 meters SFI is low
(e.g., now).  When the SFI is high, it's totally out of the question.
