Topband: 3Y0X this morning

This morning signals were marginal copy and with deep qsb, although the operator seemed to copy very well. Wonder what listening antenna device they have on the island.

They were only above the noise on occasions from 0300 - 0630z here on a 30 mtr. vertical. Was lucky to work them finally. 

Theory seems to indicate the path to be over North America, perpendicular to the terminator. Seems to coincide with NA stns. working them at the same time.

Can anyone with directional listening antennas in Europe confirm the direction ?
