Topband: Follow up on Request from FK8CP

1.  The amplifier that Remi recently got has developed a problem (he didn't
specify the problem or the symptoms).  He believes the problems are with two
faulty PIN diodes, type MA4P4006D.  He is looking to find a pair "at a very
cheap price (even used but in good order)."


It looks like Alpha Radio Products (Alpha amps) is a source of the MA4P4006A
PIN diodes at a cost of $125 each (thanks Mike, W4EF).  Does anyone have any
ideas for other sources that might be cheaper?  Please reply to me
privately.

I am working to get something put together to help Remi.  Gary, KD9SV, has
generously offered to provide a pennant antenna and possibly a preamp.  When
I get more information collected I'll provide an update here on the
reflector.
