Topband: Yorba Linda Report

Hi all,

Well VK9WWI at my place near Los Angeles was above the noise for about 8-10 seconds around 12:55 and about 4 seconds around 13:06. Many other locals were hearing and working him.

I was listening on my inverted/raised 30/75' L about 20' off the ground and have an AM S-9 noise
and S-6 CW noise level.

It was a learning experience using my new IC-756 PROIII dual receive, playing with the noise blankers, filters etc and I was ready to pounce.

Once again, if you can't hear'em, you can't work'em.

Today I will try and get my RX loop antenna hooked up and try again tomorrow.

By the way, I have an uncanny ability to get up early on the days DX does not operate 160, so if you hear me on, try another band hi hi
