Topband: How Close is Too Close?

I'm about 6 miles from K0RF and line-of-sight.  With a K3 and a 200 Hz
filter I only notice their presence when within 1 or 2 KHz.  So based on
this very limited data, I would say that 5 miles is doable given good
engineering practices on the part of both stations.
