Not a good thing for longevity and for possible joint issues causing all 
sorts of problems.  In Puerto Rico barbed wire has been used a AM radio 
stations with a least a 5 year life span.  Personally my choice is Green 
#16 THNN (Lowes or Home Depot for $27.50 a roll) which is stranded and 
covered.  I do not bury it since the grass seems to gooble it up so I 
can mow over it after  few months.
