Topband: Beverages

I put up the killer beverage to europe... two staggered 1500' phased with two more spaced 5/8 wave.  It was useless ....  I shortened them to about 700 feet and it worked fine but not much better than my reference phased pair or 580 footers. Eventually I removed the staggered ones as they did nothing but improve f/b and did nothing for signal to noise. I still use a pair of 1500 footers to Japan; a few times a year they are better than shorter ones. I am a believer in the vertical angle issue. Switching lengths is interesting if you were in a part of the world where there were areas of interest at vastly different distances.
