I've thought about 'em, built 'em and tried 'em since 1960...you can model them all you want but the proof in in the performance when you get it in the air...and that can't be predicted because everyone's environment is different...:-)

If you want to model antennas, go for it, but accept that there is a pretty steep learning curve in getting to be adept at it and producing something that's useful. I've fumbled around in it a bit, but you still don't really know what's going to happen until you build it.

Count me in the "old-fashioned" camp, I guess. I'll never put down those that model antennas and produce something of value for them, but I'll be out in the yard hanging wire...
