Hello everyone,
I have on my makeshift Inverted L about 21 Radials ranging from 60' long to
20' all fanned out from the feed of my antenna out to my property edges.I am
tuning the 'L' in shack with a tuner, as without it.. SWR is approaching 2:1
I do realize laying radials on ground detunes them, however considering none
of them are even close to 1/4 wl on 160 my question is this:
1) Would adding a a pair of 130' radials that are bent (running TO property
edge and then along property edge) give me any real world performance
difference? Would I have to add say 4 , 8 or 16 of these to make it worth
while in ADDITION to the existing radial field.?
If any one has further questions as to the current antenna set up pse chk my
QRZ page.. as I have some photos explaining the exact layout of that antenna
and radial field. ( Ive already had many comments abt the 'antenna support
structure @ the rear of my Shed in my yard, I know its close to power
lines.. I know the dangers.. Im willing to take that risk @ the
moment.. actual antenna wire is in the order of 8' away from the power
lines..yes 8'.. its a city lot.. I have to make compromises, and I
do appreciate the concern)
