You might like to check that a radio is not connected to your TX antenna as 
that could also be a source of unwanted products.

Thanks to all that replied.

I put on the thinking cap and connected the loop directly to the RX antenna 
and the intermod is still there.
?
Getting out the ladder and changing the?tuning diodes to the?strong signal 
configuration.
?
At least it is not the weekend of the 160 contest.
