Yep, this often happens to me.  When strong signals are present I often detect what I first assume are key clicks from the transmitting station, but then I look down and see that my noise blanker is on and this normally is the true cause of the problem (not the transmitting station).  I turn my noise blanker off, and the "key clicks" miraculously vanish.
