Topband: Bury beverage wire?

Hi David,

It should be perfectly okay to bury a short coaxial cable under the
driveway with a matching transformer at each end that connects to
each Beverage segment. Keep the coax as short as possible because
signals passing though the coax will be slightly delayed by the
velocity factor of the coax. Its best to use foam dielectric coax
(or even better, air dielectric) to minimize the phase delay

There is an item in an old ARRL antenna book showing an 80m dipole residing
in clay pipes just under the surface.
