Field Day 40 Mtr ant

Short of using a beam which is out of the question for my field day trip
this year has anybody tried a two el wire beam ? Would you care to share
details with me ?  I would like to try something other then the typical 40
mtr dipole slung in a tree this year since probably the only two bands
worth really spending a lot of time on will be 40 and 20.  Can you get away
with short spacing like 16 ft etc ?
