Anyone know how to model the Linearly Loaded KLM 40M 3
el Yagi? If you want a challenge for a real world project, we at N6IJ,
were donated Jack Troster's dual yagi, a KLM 40, 3 element,
interlaced with a KLM 5 element, 20 meter Yagi. Jack says the
antenna has performed beautifully for him for many years. This
antenna has not been analyzed for optimum relative placement of the
2 Yagis on Jack's new, longer 56 foot boom, nor for optimum
spacing between elements of each Yagi. It will be a while before we
can put up this one at N6IJ, so would be interested in modellers
doing both tasks. I have factory manuals for both Yagis and will
send any needed factory dimensions to interested parties. We are
looking for Maximum front to back ratio, more than maximum
forward gain, as our difficulties at N6IJ are mostly front end
overload from U.S. stations when working Pacific DX stations.
Both are fed using 200 ohm KLM baluns. We currently use the
surplus Army MARS Log Periodic, a Hy-Gain LP 1017, which is a big
antenna, goes down to 40 meters, but has only about 10 db F/B.
Can Anyone help?
