While you probably can't get your S-Meter "calibrated", I see an
interesting market opening ...
The calibrated digital S-meter.
This device (consisting of a single chip microprocessor with at least one
A/D converter) will read the band you are on, measure the strength of the
received signal (after the IF filters), do a look-up table to convert to
microvolts, and then convert to S-units. Then, will convert to drive the
S-Meter of your choice.
Should cost about $15.00 to build, and about $300 to install and
calibrate.
