Why not use the tower itself - it's the perfect template. The less to
wrong when the cement truck is around the better.  I've done that
on both of my self support towers (100 and 120 footers, 20' base
sections). Blocked on railroad ties and guyed at 20' nothing is going to
move. As a bonus, the first section is already up - it has to go up some
time.....
